GemSim (“the App”) is a free gemstone faceting simulator developed by Reverie LLC.

GemSim respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information GemSim collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

You can use GemSim’s core gemstone design and simulation features without creating an account.

If you choose to create a GemSim account or use cloud features, GemSim may collect and store:

• Your email address, for account creation, authentication, and account management.
• Your GemSim username or handle, which allows other GemSim users to find you for design sharing.
• Gemstone design files that you choose to save to GemSim’s cloud storage.
• Information necessary to manage design ownership, sharing permissions, and access.

GemSim does not sell your personal information.

User Accounts

Creating an account is optional and is only required for account-based features such as cloud storage and sharing.

Your account is used to identify your cloud files, synchronize access to your designs, and enable sharing with other GemSim users.

GemSim’s core local design and simulation functionality remains available without an account.

Cloud-Stored Designs

When you choose to save a design to the cloud, the design data is stored on GemSim’s cloud infrastructure and associated with your account.

Cloud designs remain under your control. You can manage or delete your cloud designs through GemSim.

Local designs that you do not upload to the cloud are not stored by GemSim.

Sharing Designs

GemSim allows you to share cloud-stored gemstone designs with other people.

You may choose to:

• Keep a design private.
• Share a design with specific registered GemSim users.
• Create a public sharing link.

When sharing with specific users, GemSim uses user handles to identify who has permission to access the design.

You may also choose the level of access provided to recipients, such as View Only or View + Copy.

With View + Copy access, another user may create an independent copy of your shared design. Once copied, that copy belongs to the recipient and is not automatically deleted or modified when you change or delete your original design.

If you create a public link, anyone who obtains that link may be able to access the design according to the permissions you selected. You can regenerate a public link to invalidate the previous link.

Do not include personal, confidential, or sensitive information in designs that you choose to share publicly.

Public and Community Content

If you choose to publish or submit a design to a public GemSim library or other community feature, information you intentionally make public may be accessible to other GemSim users or visitors.

Only publish designs and information that you are comfortable making publicly available.

Website and Hosting

GemSim uses third-party cloud and hosting services to operate the application, authenticate users, store cloud designs, and provide sharing functionality.

These service providers may process technical information necessary to provide and secure their services, such as IP addresses, device or browser information, and server logs.

GemSim does not use this information to create advertising profiles or sell information about its users.

Analytics and Tracking

GemSim does not use personal information for targeted advertising and does not sell user information to advertisers.

GemSim does not use cross-app or cross-website tracking for advertising purposes.

Third-Party Services

GemSim relies on third-party service providers for functions such as application hosting, authentication, database services, and cloud storage.

These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to GemSim and are subject to their own privacy and security obligations.

Data Retention and Deletion

Account information and cloud-stored designs are retained while your GemSim account remains active or as necessary to provide the requested services.

You can delete cloud designs from within GemSim.

You can also request deletion of your GemSim account through the account deletion functionality provided in the App. Account deletion removes your account and associated cloud data, subject to limited retention where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or other legitimate obligations.

Designs that other users previously copied using the View + Copy feature are independent copies associated with those users and will not be deleted when you delete your original design or account.

Security

GemSim uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect account information and cloud-stored designs.

However, no internet-based service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

GemSim is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Your Choices

You can use GemSim without creating an account if you do not need cloud storage or account-based sharing.

You can also:

• Delete cloud-stored designs.
• Change or revoke sharing permissions.
• Regenerate public sharing links.
• Delete your GemSim account and associated cloud data.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to GemSim’s features, services, or legal requirements.
